G'morning!
« on: November 18, 2006, 06:55:51 PM »

Hey all - just wanted to say hi.

In April my wife and I adopted our first dog, a 10-week old Lab Husky mix we named Simon.  By August, it had become apparent that Simon needed a companion.

Heading back to the same shelter we'd saved Simon from, we found an absolutely adorable litter of 10-week old pups identified as German Sheperd mixes (the other breed being unknown).  We immediately fell for one of the males, and we later named him Henry.  (Hence the screen name.)

Within days, it became apparent that Henry was no ordinary GSD...we couldn't place it, but we knew that something was different...within a week we'd had a suspicion that he (at the very least) had Belgian Malinois in him.

About two weeks after we brought him home, we sent some photos to a Beligan Malinois expert, and she said conclusively that there was no doubt in her mind that our little German mix was in fact a Belgian.

So then it became a situation of "Well now we need to learn about this dog!"  To say he's hyper-intense is an understatement, but he's a GREAT dog.

So there's our story!  Looking forward to talking to you all!

Hi!

Welcome to our forum!  Smiley

In USA they are usually mistaken for GSD but I guess behaviour would soon show the real breed.  Wink Mals are a wild thing, before getting Blueberry I always assumed that they canīt be "worse" than my terv but if I say my tervueren is 50% more than usual dog than Blueberry definitly is 200%.

Anyway welcome to the world of belgian shepherds and definitly post a picture on forum (here or in our dogs), you can also upload pictures to our gallery to which you will find link above.
