Just a 'brag' from a very proud 'mom'! Video
« on: October 26, 2006, 11:32:27 AM »

I just found out that one of my female pups began her Ring career and scored a super 99.5/100 in her Brevet!  She is owned and trained by Heather Arlinghaus who has done a super nice job training her.

Fontaine d'Or Ginger (call name 'Furi') is about 20 months old now, and I'm sure we'll hear a lot more about this team in the future!

I wish them both all the best in their future endeavours!  Congratulations!

Here are some great bitework training videos of this girl when she was a pup (9 and 11 months old and one short video of heeling at 12 mos).  This pup DEFINES 'grip'! Smiley

'Furi' is a Jason X Tessa puppy--her videos are at the bottom of her page--Link to videos:  http://www.vonschoerling.com/Furi.html

Martine...hope you like what you see....It is so genetically beautiful to see those BR lines at work, and extra special when you see it demonstrated by a female!

Enjoy! Smiley

Wow! Wonderful accomplishment.  You have a right to be proud.  Not to take away from Furi's accomplishment, but you also have another girl doing very well at an up and comming protection sport called  American Street Ring.  Fountaine d'Or Neeka owned and handled (very well, I might add) by Chris Duhon.  She obtained her ASR level 1 with a 95% and was high in trial and decoy's choice.  http://americanstreetring.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=70.  She too is out of Jason and Tessa.

Great Job!

Neeka now...

Totally agree Lacey!

But then Chris knows that I consider myself blessed having a puppy owner like him! lol

He's shown such commitment and motivation...and the results speak for themselves.  Neeka is a working prodigy and has shown her abilities over and over again!  The scores are incredible.  She had that type of intensity as an 8 wk old....So I was not surprised to hear that she won the 'decoy's choice'!  Most people couldn't have handled a pup like Neeka...I had a feeling that Chriswas one of those who could...without breaking her spirit.  Chris can tell you that she decided that 'she was going to take him on' the first week he had her. lol

I think because of their repeated successes...I'm at a point now where I just 'expect' outstanding performances from them!  (ooops sorry Chris--nope, no pressure from me there~hee hee Wink )

I think Neeka (Chris or you can correct me on this) was also the 'youngest female' to enter/title in ASR--She was such a natural that Chris spent most of his holding her back and slowing down the pace.  He is an awesome owner and I wish everyone would be as lucky to meet and even moreso to place their working pups with the likes of Chris!

For the benefit of others who don't know much about ASR---it's not just about OB and Protection....It's not about pattern training or repetition....It's about scenarios and A LOT of environmental pressures and control; and bite quality is also assessed~So for such a young dog like Neeka to be able to deal with the program is amazing (she was just a youngster and some would have still considered her a PUP when she entered the first competition)--Some aspects even in the entry and first level (environmental and psychological) of ASR; are at such an advanced level that one typically sees only much older dogs in other programs being able to deal with that level of pressure.

The thing is Lacey....Neeka is always achieving levels with such high performances that to 'brag' about her EVERY achievement would only be repetitive! So I am waiting for Chris to compile a training/trialing DVD for me so that I can upload it to my site and everyone can see what we've all been bragging about! Smiley

Words are just not enough to describe Neeka (nor about how I feel about their accomplishments!)  Love

For those who would like to learn more about ASR and all it encompasses; check out the link below:
