Intro, not newbie but...
« on: October 26, 2006, 09:19:03 PM »

... I've been kind of unactive I'm afraid. Sorry about that!

My name is Kattis Lundgren, and I'm from Sweden - where I still live. I live 10 km north of a town called Örnsköldsvik, which is located in the middle/north of Sweden (by the coast).

I came out of my mother in 1982 - and from that moment on I loved animals!  Grin

My family always had some kind of animal living with us, and always a dog. My mom loved the movies about Lassie (ofcourse!) so I grew up with longhaired Collies. We also had several cats, parrots, budgerigars, guinea-pigs, bunnies, pet-rats, fish... the list can go on for ages!  Wink
When I was 12 years old, our collie Bessie passed away, and we heard of a breed called Tervueren that was exactly like a collie (yeah, right!) and so happens - there was a grown male available at a kennel not too far away from us.
Well... he stormed into our lives and proved that Tervueren was NOTHING like a Collie! Cheesy We kept him for two years, and he was adorable indoors... but outdoors.  Embarrassed He attacked my sister many times, and we tried to seek help but got none. The day he REALLY attacked her and she came running home all bruised up and bloody, mom decided to pass him on to another owner. I later heard that he killed some cats and bunnies, and pretty soon was put to sleep.  Cry Altough his bad attributes, I really loved him and the breed itself.

In 1998 I got my very own dog, who I bought with my own savings. It was a Schapendoes (a Dutch sheepdog) who was named Ghetto... he introduced me to the world of active dog-life! Together we started with obedience and agility and did pretty well... we still struggle, and hope to do good also in the future.  Smiley
Ghetto was never interested in tracking and stuff like that though - and I really wanted to try! At the same working dog club as I was a member of, there was a very nice and kind breeder too. AND! She is a breeder of Tervueren! So, in 2002 I got a puppy from her and I named him Tarass. We haven't compeeted much, but he is a champion of tracking wild animals... we will try to show some nice results in obedience, tracking and agility next year. It's never too late with a Belgian Shepherd!  Roll Eyes

We live in a big old house on the country side, along with my boyfriend Erik and three cats. All of us love this life, it's so perfect when the pets are able to be outside as much as they want.  Afro There is alot to be done at the house, but slowly and step by step - it is becoming our dream house.

I'm a student at the moment, but that won't last longer than until June 2007. (Thank God!)  Cool I will then get employed by the paper pulp mill in town. The working hours will be great, and I feel like I've made the right choice of career.  Smiley

Dogs take up a lot of my sparetime - training, learning more about dogs, learning about breeding, training my dogs etc... I'm also an instructor at the local working dog club and every now and then I lead courses in agility and help out with a little of everything.

Well... that was a little bit about me... any questions? No? Didnät think so, ha ha - nobody had the strength to read this far!  Grin

TAKE CARE!
