Would certainly appreciate if any of you guys out there could share a clip of Eriem v. H. Beenhouwerke (BR/NVBK Cat III Champ 2004 and current champion for Cat II BR/NVBK), as I've been hearing a lot of great things about him . I understand he is a son of Wolf.
Yes, he is a Wolf son. He is a very good ring dog. I don't know if there is any video material available. I've seen him train and compete numerous times but didn't record on video.
Typical Wolf-Tourtel combination. Wolf produced great offspring with a specific Tourtel origin female (with 2 females that almost were full sisters).
Eriem comes out of that combo. He is a good ring dog. Great drive, loves to work, great grip. I've seen good offspring from him, always out of close linebreeding combos.
However these dogs are dead for a long time already. It's interesting to see a dog's pedigree for many generations, but I pay more attention to the first 3 generations. Debber, Bibber, Cartouche, Arat.... it's interesting to see them at the end of a pedigree, but to me they are history.
Oke vh Muizenbos and Tourtel are in Eriem's lines and these dogs come back in many, many pedigrees in the NVBK, so it's easy to do a line breeding. This increases the odds of producing the same type of dog.
Appreciate Mr. Sainz's research and efforts to share with us those two clips of an excellent performance from an excellent ring dog .
Martine, I noticed in Cat3 clip of 2004, the dog was wearing what appears to be a silastic bandage on his right front paw. A silastic bandage is something we give our patients for ligament injuries. Would you know if he was playing hurt during the championships- because if he was, it didn't show and that even makes for an even more terrific performance .
I own an Eriem son 2,4 Years old. I have seen many offspring from Eriem and a lot of them are very good dogs. But as in many cases you need to train the dog appropiate . Many times you need to think first and not beat things in them and than think again. This does not mean that you cannot put any pressure on them ! I have lost my patience twice during training , many dogs would not have gone for an other attack after my ' doggydance' but he did . serveral offspring are already in competition wild great results. You can see some clips of him at http://users.pandora.be/akagera/test10/pages/Malinois.htm
I'm preparing a DVD about NVBK Cat-2 championship in Vorselaar 2006. There you can see some of the Eriem's excellent performance, and some others good dogs too. Send me a PM in case you're interested.
