You have a nice record of the working dogs, beautiful website. I could see my dogs in there as well, which is always a pleasure ?Wink ?
There also seemed to be pictures of Remu (Belmex Elliot), but not of Jesse (verynice's Amateur), who passed away shortly. Would you like a picture of Jesse as well? If so, I'm sure I can send you one.

Kind regards,
Moina

That web-site is not mine Smiley but I'm sure the web-master of that page would like to have your dogs picture! You can find her contact information in the pages (Erja Juvakka)

Your Remu is related to my Zorro (Voo Doo's Gump) good to see that relatives too are doing so well in workingtrials!  Cool

My web-pages you can see in http//:www.groguard.net welcome to visit there too!

Best Regards, Anna

WORKING GROENENDAELS

The best source I have found so far for info on working Groenendaels and to ad your dog to if you have a Groenendael competing at the highest level:

There once were Groenendaels that could REALLY work. To our great shame, that is no longer the case today:

JULES DU MOULIN

JULES DU MOULIN (LOB3797) and his trainer, M. Tedesco, won the World Champion title for an incredible five consecutive years (1908-11). JULES is the prototype of the working BSD.

If JULES were to be born in a Groenendael litter today, he would more than likely be ?put down? or ?culled? because of all his white markings?

?Not only did Jules win the Paris International Championship five consecutive times (1908, 1909, 1912, 1913 and 1914), but he also, and not many people know this, won the first two editions of the Belgian Ring Championships.  Those were organised by Belgian Kennel Club in 1913 and 1914 at the Palais du Cinquantenaire in Brussels. Numerous exercises were done without muzzles.

If Jules had shown himself a superior and accomplished dog, who were his descendants? Born on 16 June 1906, Jules would be carrying the number LOB 3797. The breeder is Mr Laureys of Hoeylaert. His father is the Tervueren Dick and Miss was his mother. Apparently he had very few descendants since the only information found is about the bitch Charmante de l?Agriculture (LOB 3995), born on 8 April 1910 by Jules du Moulin (5), out of Neva du Moulin with Mr Tedesco of Auderghem.

Jules had large white spot on his chest and on the tip of his toes. In those days, a lot of our Groenendaels had these marks on the forehead, the chest and the toes. The white lily-like mark on the forehead has completely disappeared over time. White paws have become a rarity.  The white star on the chest is less common, but continues to appear obstinately in certain families, if only in the form of some white hairs lost in the black.  Their recessiveness appears therefore, if not completely eliminated, at least extremely decreased.?

whew... what a bold statement! --sounds like if my grandfather (he rest in peace): everything in existing world was evil and the past was perfect.--

Beside that you does go way too far back in history... I would have named Andor van de IJselvloed when talking about past Groenendalers.

Hi Teus

'THERE ONCE WERE..."

ANDOR V.D. IJSSELVLOED IS ONLY ONE DOG...

Having had two (recessive) black Mal pups in litters sired by one of my dogs - who is a grandson of the legendary CLIP - I have a particular interest in black Mals which, unfortunately, have been written out of the breed standard.

As regards Andor v.d. Ijjselvloed, I know all about him and that he is the ancestor of the ?black Malinois? in the KNPV.

Further info:

Andor v.d. Ijsselvloed: Santa van 't Skepershoes X Astra
born : 23 maart 1973
died : 7 september 1981
NHSB : 666438
owner/trainer : Th.M. Berkers

?In the later days of Tosca I was offered, within my own Club, the thoroughbred Groenendaeler Andor v .d. IJsselvloed.

Together with my brother Jozef I bought, which appeared later, this unique male-dog.

5 x contestants and 3 x National Champion PH2. made this dog with his genetics a very uncommon excellence, who got his recognition not before he died.
In 1981 I said goodbye with Andor in the National Champions Competition.

In 1983 I became National Champion with a direct son of Andor, the cross breed Nero.

Nero and also Boedha (breed by me) from my brother Jozef were both sons of Andor. These two male-dogs have as well as Andor, laid the foundation of the still special successful crossbred Groenendaeler (black Malinois),within several training programs.? - THEO BERKERS

As for info on Andor, for those interested, more can be found here:

I think you only tried to say this when I eliminated your copy and paste stuff above in your quote ... or did you try to outsmart me ??

Thanks for the kennel information.  I am located in the United States.  So far, I am not having much luck in contacting European breeders.
