Some say G'Bibber produced tervs, but I haven't seen any from him at the time he still was in the NVBK so IMO it didn't come from him but from the mother lines??

To have a terv out of mali both parents carry the gene so in this case also G'Bibber and the mother of the terv pups.

Agree Saskia...both parents MUST be carriers of that gene to produce a Terv pup!

IF that pedigree of G'Bibber I've found (bloedlijnen)is right, there is a terv behind, Hasti de la Gilde st Sebastien. That dog and its siblings, Hasta, Heros and Hirka, are also behind all old swedish tervlines. Sire of him is Boy de l'Athenes du Nord and mother Folly des Bonmoss. All go back to old mals, when the difference between working and show was not so strict.

G'Bibbers influence in long hair can be clearly seen in Atos's offspring, there is loads of tervs, when it is combined in lines.

of course "IF"  Smiley
I have a copy of Bibber's (that's his original NVBK name before he became G'Bibber) original NVBK pedigree (NVBK 011692) right here and it says mother: unknown....

So as we all agree, it is impossible that two tervs have malinois' puppies.
So what do you say about these:
http://www.etulinjan.com/litters/a_litter/a_litter.htm
Quite interresting. Are those dogs that are registered as malinois really malinois?
...If they are then Hymy is also malinois.

I have a hard time with calling that male a Terv. He may be somewhat coated, but Terv???

Every now and then -like 2006 years ago- some parents are unknown, but I believe that they are still there  Wink Otherwise we'd have a loads of dogs dropped straight from the sky  Grin

Wouldn't that be easy  Grin

Of course she was there but she wasn't the one that was mentioned.  She was an unregistered female (guard dog on a farm) from NVBK lines without any terv blood.

Tosca is also unregistered and still her pedigree is known. Where does Bibber's mother come from to the public pedigree? I bet someone else also knows that dog.

And the amount of tervs at least in Finland from G'Bibbers lines is not explained with only our polarbear-fit climate. But I am not complaining  Grin Every new line in tervs is always a victory  Afro Eventhouhgh it comes from a mal who absolutely doesn't produce tervs  Wink

So this begs the question.....are Tervs and Laks for the same question a coat variation or truly a new breed?

Inspite of what your National Kennel Club says...what do you think they are?

I read a very interesting genetic study, that was in the light of the "Canine Genome Project". Anyway, long story short they had identified a handful of genetic markers. They laid the markers out, graph form, for a number of breeds. The 3 closest were the Belgian breeds... with only very minute differences. I will try to see if I can find that picture. Does anyone else remember reading it?

Nasty old Luc, hiding the truth about his "real" pedigrees to confuse and confound us. Tongue How dare he! So, now that you have admitted to knowing G'Bibbers true pedigree, care to share with us? This would be so nice. Smiley
