It's not a title, but we are now 2/3 of the way there. This last weekend Cali trialed in her (and my) first AKC herding trial. Herding Started, A course, with Sheep.? Or HSA-s as it's officially called.
Anyway, we managed to turn in two good runs. I'm still figuring out the scoring for all of this, because I thought Saturday's run was overall better than Sunday's, but Sunday we got a higher score? .
At the end of the day though, we turned in Qualifying scores, took first in the Started class, and took High in Trial Course A both days. Plus High Scoring Malinois both days. She earned some cool ribbons, nice engraved mugs, and Cali's favorite part, two sheep squeaky toys. One has already been gutted by the evil Crashman unfortunately, but it's a minor injury fixable with surgery. The other is still being mauled as I type, and squeaking away.
I tried to take a photo of Cali with her ribbons with the flock in the background, but they weren't thrilled about her being by the fence and kept moving away. So we settled for some dirt that would hold still instead? ? 3 minutes earlier the sheep toy was white, but she'd already been playing with it and it got a "little" dirty.?
How long did you train? I can imagine the look on the faces of BC owner when a BSD took first prize
Yentos still has a long way to go but shows potential although I doubt that we can get him to competition level but if I do, that would be the first in Belgium I think.

Cali did a little bit of herding when she was 2 or 3. Maybe 5 classes, and 5 other exposures. Not classes, but more like an instinct test. We started doing classes again when she was 6, and have been training on a regular basis (once a week with the occasional week off) for about 4 months now.
