Well at least he showed that he is happy and playful. Had this only once with yentos, he started barking in the ring and initiating a play because people were trying to get the attention of their dog with a toy while being outside of the ring.
I always show Yentos single-handed (well at least 95% of the time) and in Dortmund it was no different. But the judge decided to show him a treat to check the position of his ears and she later on gave it to him. Then she wanted to check his body but he kept turning with her while she walked since you never know whether you might get lucky twice. So all she could judge was his head. In the end I stood next to him so he would stand still. He won Open Class in Dortmund because of his open and playful character. To her it was less important that he was out of coat because she like his character.
Jenny,
I am jealous that you have outside shows. Here there are only 2 per year. We are always inside winter and summer rain or shine.

Well usually in Finland summer is short and there is not that much snow around midsummernight...
Outside shows are nice, much more room. Hallshows are usually so crowded, like the coming W05 and NW05 will be.
And we have loads of funny memories of showrings. Boris once threw himself on his back in front of Michel Griol and demanded scratches around balls... I was , secretaries were and Griol was I have run with old puppy to young puppies ring, dragged one of my dogs away in the middle of judgement, run in the wrong direction and once thru peruvian hairless ring and secretary yelled that shave that first!

I must say I haven't had that much. I usually end up in the right ring even when showing multiple breeds.
In the netherlands I once had a judge around 80 years old. And she stumbled towards Yentos and he ran towards her bumping in to her nearly knocking her over when trying to greet her. End result: 4th place and a very good as qualification. Comment: dog too heavily built.
Come to think of that never had any luck with Dutch judges so far. They all think he is too heavily built (not fat). I disagree and said that to one of the judges once. I don't know whether that was such a good idea.
