We are planning to see some of our friends in France for the New Year and obviously want to take our Belgians with us.? We thought we were being well organised and have started looking into Passports for our Dogs.
Obviously we can travel into France without any documents but will need Passports to come back to England.
Could anyone help me as I'm a bit confused - can we travel on our Doggy Passport 6 months after the Rabies vaccination or 6 months after Blood Tests?
I think its pretty much like in sweden. Don`t know if its 6 months, but here you also have to wait some time before making the rabies test. So I think it is 6 months after the Rabies vaccination. After you make the test and get the results you can travel emediatly. At least its like that over here in sweden.

You have to contact DEFRA http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/index.htm. They can explain you what your vet need to do and what has been done to make pet passport valid. They are picky picky at custom before you enter UK again.
My advice: call them to figure out.
Other option, which is best: go to your veterinarian and make him work this out. He is the one with knowledge and update information.
Thanks for your help.? I have double checked with Vets, Kennel Club and DEFRA Website:-
The 6 month rule for entering the UK
An animal may not enter or re-enter the UK under PETS (The Pet Travel Scheme) until 6 calendar months have passed from the date that the blood test sample which gave a satisfactory result was taken.
Will just have to make it a Summer Vacation now!!!
