How are KNPV dogs started?

Since the KNPV dogs are very impressive in their entries to all that watches these dogs, how are they started in training? What age are they teaching the serious biting? I've heard through conversations that they do a lot of "tie outs" on the field for agitations and building desires as young dogs? Do they use whip's as stimulants or a lot of KNPV dogs just natural with their work? How old are they started ? Young as puppies or are they allowed to grow up first? Thank you and wanting to learn more about the different sports.

Hello,

At most off the clubs there are tie outs to let a young dog grow into the bitting.

At our club whe watch the pups closely when bitework is done at the field. and after a few months when we think the dog is ready and he has changed all off his teeth. Whe start the bitting.


Whe also allow the pup to grow up first.
Most off the time the dog shows when he or she is ready

It depends on the dog and trainer.

Some start with the obedience others with the retrieve execersizes.

For me I start with both.

the bitting off course but this depends mostly by the dog.

The dog has to be ready.

everything stays in play mode the first year.
