Mario With Yagus At the World IPO Championships
« on: June 02, 2005, 06:55:04 AM »

Hello All,
After enjoying the beautiful obedience of this team at the video postings in the IPO section, I was wondering if anyone has ever watch this team train. By the way, I had to watch it over and over many times and was amazed everytime. What does Mario use for his beautiful  healing routine. Such preciseness. Tug for reward, / pinch or maybe even electric? Or is this dog trained strickly motivational? Was this dog started on it's obedience using food as a youngster? Would love to hear from anyone that has watched this team's performance. Thanks for the opportunity to learn.

Hai Juan,

As far as I know Yagus is trained with possitive re?nforcement only.
Then Mario is an exeptional handler who allso preformed at high level with Stoned so I think he is one of the persons with a natural feeling for dogs  Smiley
It is just wonderfull to watch this team work.

hello,

I'm also big fan of Yagus and Mario and I have a lot of respect and admiration for his work. After every single performance at world championship lies a lot of hard work, some use positive methods, some more traditional, but to be on the top you have to use or give a dog some responsibility for work. The real art of dog training is that nevertheless what you do, the dog works happily, open and very precise. And that I admire in Yagus and Mario. They are like harmony in motion...

Mario had a 3rd Dog with whom he competed in world championship FCI a GSD With  him he did 3 championships in the early 90 th Belgium Slovenia and Italie. With Stoned he did 7 worldchampionships 3 FCI and 4 FMBB  and now Yagus will do nr 8 in Breda there are 4 FCI and 4 FMBB.
With Stoned there was no  clicker involved only the old Belgium way. With Yagus till 2 years of age only clicker using Food Bal toy even bite reward. Now there is still motivation but also Inotek. Wink
