Hi! My dog never had any intestional problems because of meat... He loves it and he looks better because of it. He has a little weight problem and he is getting some kg now.
Cow stomach makes it even better then meat, there are many vitamines and minerals in it. Here in Sweden its cheap to buy, because swedes dont eat it..
Fish Oli its good for coat, I just started do give him that, I can allready see a difference...

By feeding meat I mean different kinds of meat, my dogs get a compleet deepfrozen meet containing different sorts of meat for about 3 days a week the other days they are fed the BARF program. By feeding this way my dogs became more active and they builded up much more muscle tissue. They have a shine coat, feel softer and produce a lot less faeces. They eat everything from chicken, cow stumach, lam cutoffs and bones to vegetables and different kinds of oils. I really like this way of feeding my dogs and they seem to be feeling great. Annyone else familiar with this way off feeding dogs?
I have always used kibble dog food, Eukanuba or Nutro. My dogs have always worked fine on it, with good intestinal condition as well as body concerning coat and muscles.
Had my dogs on Hills and Eukanuba for 10 years but saw a really big differance when I switched them to meat. Much softer caots, more muscles and bright clean teath.

I definitely think that's possible and likely even, meat is the dog's natural food source. Those together with Nutro were the ones I tried (forgot Hills in my previous post) with my first dog, the last 5 years of his life he was fed Nutro senior food because it has glucosamine in it and he had arthritis.
I think and have the experience that it varies from dog to dog what works best, some dogs like mine works fine on kibble and have good fur, claws, teeth and muscles, whereas others are sensitive to for example preservatives and need other kinds of food. Also, some dogs simply won't eat certain kinds of food. I know one dog who will NOT eat good quality kibble, but eat the trashy ones. That and nothing else is what she has settled for, so her owner gives her vitamine additives and that's it. They're just like humans, they have allergies, likings and dislikings. As for clean teeth, I feel that it's not so much the meat as whether you feed them rawhide bones and/or meatbones so they get cleaned.

I feed my dog twice a day. First meal is smaller; kibble and tuna fish. Second meal is cooked. I use mostly chicken, beef, turkey and cod (fish). To that I add rice or pasta and vegetables (carrot, spinach, cauliflower..). I started cooking about few mounths ago and I did notice that he finally gain weight (muscles). He was really skiny before and no matter how much he eat or how hard we excercize he still looked the same. So I deffinately thing eating high protein diet (a lot of mean) does make a difference.
Hi Maja, How long do you cook the rice or pasta and the veggies? A dog's stomach can't break down the starch or the fibres unless it's cooked to a virtual dough, so if you just cook it like you would for a human it won't do anything for the dog but just fill up the stomach and get passed through the bowels to come out on the other side. It's all about the degree/amount of processable raw protein, which is very high in meat and low in grain and veggies. I don't wanna write you on the nose with this at all, just wanted to give you the heads up in case you didn't know. I'm sure you're doing the very best for your dog, I have a couple of friends who have dogs (german shepherd and large poodle) who also have huge difficulties getting them to gain weight and they get allergic reactions to ANY processed dog food. I am happy you found something that works for your dog.
You are right, home prepared meals are not that easy to make. You have to know what you are doing. Before switching to cooked meals I prepared well that I give him everything that he needs. It is still my personal opinion, but for me meat helped (high protein diet) him developed. Of course together with training.
One of my dogs was allways verry scinny he used to eat 500 grams of eucanuba and 500 grams Hills a day. This is a really active dog. Right now the same dog eats 800 grams a day and I need to be carefull not to feed him more. I think this dog just could not get the energie from his kibble fast enough to compensate his enormous energie, so the kibble went down the pipeline without delivering energie. Switching him to meat did it for this dog. In the beginning I added extra sheep and crussed bones witch dilivers a lot of fat. I think he digest his food a lot better now, his feaces production went down from 3 big ones a day to one ore two smal ones and he just lokes a lot better. I have friends who feed there dogs the same way together we owne 19 dogs and they all seem to feel really good up till now. I see such a possitive differance in my dogs that I wanted to share this with you all.
