At what age is the biting started? Agility and Obedience? And what time frame would one be looking at before being able to trial a dog? Would the BR cat. 1 training be completed by then? Juan
Now adays the "bite training" of a BR dog starts at the age of 6 weeks and it takes 2 to 3 years to get a dog at level Cat 3 (lowest) and from then on it is its trail results that decides his progres but you can't change from category during the year
Germain pauwels told me the youngest dog to ever title in BR was 3yrs old that was CAT 3 the lowest level. I have a dog that I have trained since 8weeks old for BR and He is EXTREMELY advanced for his age of 10 months, He has already titled in American Street Ring (the youngest in it's history), and is at a FR1 level now and he is so far away from a BR title still it's not funny. He wasn't trained in FR he is trained in Belgium Ring but we have ran him through the FR1 routine to see where he was at, He can handle the different styles of decoys beautifully. You have to start young.

Shows the different levels of training in the different sports in BR it is unimaginable to have 1 year old dog that knows all the excercises and those that know them at an early age burn out quickly
Hi! Can you cover when you start the formal BR exercises? Is it started after doing some obedience/ control work first or ? Is defense work incorporated for the young dogs and at what age is this done? When do they learn to do the jumps? Thank you for all the information. Juan
We only start obedience when the pups are changing teeth and we can't let them bite once the teeth are changed we start training the program. at first very soft but at the age of 12 18 months presure is up in order to have the dog fully understand the program at the age of 2 years and than one year to "harden" him on different fields with different decoys
