Vaccinations!
« on: February 15, 2005, 12:33:42 AM »

Hi,

I was wondering what is the protocol for vaccinations in other countries than Canada?  Especially once a dog is older like 3,4 or 10 years of age.

Hallo,

At the moment there is a lot of discussion gooing on about vacination sceduales.
Disstemper for instance is one of the vacinations that are not necessary every year stil lots of vets give them every year.
The recent advice is to give a coctail every other year and leptospirosis and parvo virus once a year.
Recent studies have shown that leptospirosis does not give a ful year of protection while parvo might have a much longer effect.
For rabi?s there is no obligation in Holland since officialy we are a rabi?s free country but the moment there is a breakout all dogs need to be vacinated every other year.
If you want to go abraod you need to go by the regulations of the country you want to visit.
There is a lot gooing on at this moment in "vacination land" Wink and I would not be suprised if advices wil change again. Cheesy
