Hi
This one tervueren Maxou de Contrescarpe has nothing to do with Elgos on pedigree. And allso not off the record. he is a Atos grandson and this Atos has nothing to do with Elgos. The other one is for me a little bit more interesting because it is a Dusty inbred.
The dog that is on the site from "du Vieux Marronnier" his name is "Nimba des Loups de MacKenzie".
Website is www.chienplus.com/guevel/ .
This Nimaba has the same father as Maxou but a different mother. Both pedigree's are complete malinois.
But I don't mean "bad dogs". The chance that someone finds a good tervueren is smaller than to find a good malinois. But iff i find a tervueren who is a bit better like my Jari I certanly will buy one.
And that is the problem that many people would rather have malinois over a tervueren.
Because most people think they aren't hard enough.
And you saw it back when i had Jari. They could compete with malinois in tracking and obedience but not in defence, because most off them haven't got the curredge or persivirounce.
But what i have seen on video and DVD some frenche tervueren are sometimes better than malinois.
So I think it is interesting to have a look in France for example. In Finland you have the problem whyle there are some dogs from "van de Duvetorre" Elgos blood.

A dog that I believe is now deceased, although he might not be, is Alain Karcenty's "Fidjy".  He trialed in the Coupe de France multiple times with this dog, his registered name was FIDJY von Kirchhof.  Exceptional dog, he had to be retired due to a severe injury sustained during a trial.  Alain is now trialing a son of his, Renzo.   A dog I saw a couple years ago at the NARA Championships is Phenix du Guindeau, a Terv from Malinois lines.  Very nice working dog, more of that "working Mali" look to him.  On the smaller side.  Lines down from Dusty du Clos de Savoie.

Rudy and his owner Didier visited California a few months ago, with 11 little Tervs resulting May 7/8!

I wasn't able to meet him, but Rudy got rave reviews from several friends who did including Denise (breeder of the litter above). Marvelous temperament, superb athlete, and "the real deal" as a working dog.

At the moment there is a verry intresting female out off othar perle de tourbiere at our club.

She is about one year now and looks to be a great working dog.

She has semi long hair but a mal pedigree.

I've had her several times on the KNPV suit and can say her bite is very good.

I don't know iff the pedigree still can be changed into tervueren.

The owner feels that she is better to be a malinois. cause then he can use dogs like hierro.

and register the pupies as tervs.

kind regards.

Hallo,

In Holland you can change the pedigree to Tervueren. You need to send in pedigree to the RVBH, they wil send to judges who decide if the dog lokes more Terv. then Mal. and the pedigree wil be put to Terv.
Pups born from two longhaired dogs with Mal. pedigree wil be regestred as Mal. even if they really loke Terv. they need to be judged when they are over a year old to get pedigree changed just as any other Terv. looking Mal. Wink
In Belgium they can be put on Terv. pedigree straight away.
Keeping her on Mal pedigree opens the way to use Mals that give Tervs. like Funky, Fender, Clovis Ticho etc..... At least a couple of Tervs wil be born then.
Tongue hope this makes sence to you all

This is my son's Tervuren, that he just recently started working in Ring (again).? We did some puppy foundation with him, then he took about 6 months off.? He's just a little over a year old now.? I'm hoping they will be ready to Brevet this fall but we'll see.? Young dog, young handler, it may take awhile for them to get all the pieces working together smoothly.

kennel van het Davidshof has been around quite a long time, starting with showlined

http://www.afbv.se/belgarweb/details.aspx?regno=LOSH374272&tab=7

Hugo Gesquire has been judging also in finnish specialty, and I have to say, he is one of the best judges I've ever met!

He indeed breeds Tervs for the local police.  I have seen Amigo in Oostende but unfortunately I was unable to take a picture.

You saw Amigo? When? How? God darn it, because that dog is born somewhere around 1975, and at that time I didn't even knew tervs existed.

But yep, that was pretty gorgeous male but not the real working line eventhough there is Loup des Bonmoss behind. He has produced dogs for instance to old Guldenwerths. Well maybe that was the reason on 1992 that he liked Juppe so much. Then I saw Hugo Gesquire myself. And that huge cigar!  Grin

Jenni,

Then we are talking about a different Amigo because in 1975 I was only 2 so tervs were of a lesser interest than toys and food Wink

Hugo currently has a terv that is called Amigo van 't Davidshof as well.  I'll look up the lines.
