How this MALINOIS earns his kibble! ;) Pic

Thanks to Krystin for continuouslly keeping me updated on Jason pups. We as breeders rely so much on the puppy owners to take a minute or two a couple times a year and update us on these pups...Krystin's client has been doing this and just sent her this pic...which she forwarded to me.

Bosco is a 2 year old Jason FR III X Posh Sch III, AD (Ring and IPO lines) pup and this is just one of his multiple busts so far. The owner and the dept. can't say enough about this dog's ability!

Street value of this find about $85,000

Thank you again Krystin! And thank you Bosco for keeping our streets a bit cleaner and our kids just that much more safer!  Smiley

Hi!

Well great work! And streets seem to be very dirty where this dog lives! Grin

Best regards, Raven

HANS SCHLEGEL & SOUTH AFRICA ?WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
THIS WAS ORIGINALLY POSTED ON THE LEERBURG DISCUSSION FORUM BY REINIER GEEL

Reposted here with permission

Since you would like to call names, it seems to me that it ws the dogs used by the South African Police that were recomended to be put down (all of them) because of poor training, poor use, and lack of redeeming qualities for even an attempt at re-training. Not exactly a strong recomendation for your training techniques.

Okay - Now that was as low, very low, as low as one can go and it says a lot about character, if some one is so narrow minded as to think that because of one persons statements you can assume that this closing statement of yours is how true things are, then I really pitty you.

I like what Dennis had on his poster I think it?s appropriate in this regard: Before you criticize a guy you should first walk a mile in his shoes.

That way when you do criticize him you are at least a mile away and you have his shoes.?

The facts are that after this incident all dogs were put on ice, and had to be re-tested, we passed. Now with a dog unit 43 strong, how do you rationalize your argument, this is a country where political structures control every thing and the tax payer has a say, do you think that they would let any poorly trained dog unit expand if we did not deliver. We do not live in the past we learn and move on.

Evaluation and certification is done monthly, some thing few police agencies have I believe.

Just to set the record straight, I am in the Metro Police, not the South African police.

The person who shot his mouth off was Hans Schlegel, He was invited by a sister Metro to come and give a seminar on alternative training methods, whilst he was here he made a video to sell, showing how he uses methods to build super bitters or attack dogs, in the final product he was showing ?his? dogs compared to ?our? dogs in his training video and all the advantages he has over our methods.

But what he did not tell the public was that ?his? dogs where in fact our dogs, I was amazed to see my personal dog Charka and two more Tequila and Caesar sold off as his trained police dogs on the final training video, well that?s a blunder, but some people are gullible, taking every thing at face value.

The bad dogs he showed were dogs that were still in prepping, no where near trained, just looking at there size one could clearly see that they are all under eight months. Now the man was here for three days and had him self hi-jacked, or car jacked, we found him and his vehicle in no time, 12 000 people get killed in crime related incidents in South Africa annually, more than in the Iraq war So how can some one living in? the Ghetto?s of Zurich? know much about training street smart dogs for our level of threat, we train more during basics than some agencies train in a life time, and the blunders he made here are better left quite.

He is just another businessman who exploited a window of opportunity, due to a very unfortunate incident, an opportunist with no heart.

So lets compare apples with apples:

Why did you not comment on the ring sport analogy, to close to home or what?

This should not be a difficult request because you seem to have it under your belt, how many police dogs do you have on your police dog unit that work, that you can say you had the privilege to, prep, or feed, or work, Or train for that matter or are you the spectator type, - how many criminals have they arrested this week ?? I only have two. But then again it?s a slow week.

The next topic I want to post when the dust settles on this one is The Tactical deployment of police dogs, so start pre-pairing ? because I showed my instructors what you posted, I cannot post what they said

Tell you what, why don?t you hop on a plane and come and see for your self, that way I wont get my fingertips all bruised up typing.

By reading some of the other posters I can see that people actually understand what I am trying to get across.
