Raven,

I won't be coming.  If I can get Yentos ready I will try to come for the G?teborg show.

Raven.. sorry but it's just too far away... :-/

I usually never show my dogs places that are >150km away from where I live... or if I will travel longer I should have something else to do there as well like visiting friends or relatives... Or if it's somekind of special ocation like speciality show or a show abroad.

Good luck to Raider anyway!  Smiley

Hi!

The day has come and we were there..

Mind that I am no show expert and I was there more as a help to hunden than anything else.

Sooo we drove 300km one way to get to show ( I won't say anything about looking for place where it is) and when we get there we finally park car and head to show place. In front of the place there was like 100 m long que full of people and dogs waiting to get in and ofcourse we were at end of it.

When we finally came in ofcourse I had to pay since I was just carrying buch of stuff.. no buddy gives a f*ck about working man..

Well we get in and finally after a long long wait for German shepherds to finnish showing belgians got their turn.

Waiting for our turn.

I knew he was social but this social.. No way, he was like he lives there and all dogs are his best pals..

Mr. Lyrholm had to be in bad moode today since he was giving blue ribbons and everyone was shocked.. Ok after couple of translations from hunden I somehow got it that we don't want blue one but red ones. Ofcourse I had to listen to how Raider is not standing ok, that he doesen't have enough fur and so on...

Raider goes into the ring like that is nothing (must be all those models in his family) and while judge is judging one dog he lays down and thinks about taking a nap.

Waking up in ring.

Than Mr. Lyrholm starts checking him and Raider puts his paws on the judge like they been friends since high school. Than I had to be moron with a small ball getting Raiders atention... I must say one thing too, when judge grabed his balls he simed to enjoy it, I sware the god he had smile on his pervert face.

Model baby, friking model.

Well to cut this story short, he got 2 red ribbons and that was it. 300km (one way) for 2 red ribbons.. Well at least he didn't get blue one.

I tryed to take some pictures but ofcourse batery's went to hell so all i got is 6 pics.. and not too good.

All I can say I am dead tired, shows somehow are not my thing but sometimes you have to do it.

Bye, Raven

I hope results will follow soon... ?Grin

Hi Raven & Hunden

I don't know about the ribbon stuff, we don't have that we
only receive a award when we have the winning Dog or Bitch.

But you got two ribbons so should be an good result than.
Congratulations on Raider and Katja and big congratulation
for you that you did survive the long day.

Hunden,

Congratulation although I don't understand the blue and red ribbon stuff.

Maybe a little explanation so I know what to expect in May?

Hi!

Here are the ribbon colours!

1.price, Excellent - red
2.price,  Very good - blue
3.price, Good - yellow
4.price, Acceptable - green
5.price, Untypy - no ribbon

Later there are other colours for cert, cacib, BOB and so on..and ofcourse you get more then one ribbon if you come that far  Wink

Raidy got 2 reds, because he didnt get a cert. First 1 red ribbon for excellent, the other one I dont know  Roll Eyes

hunden-

I think you got a bit wrong there about the meaning of the colours of the ribbons... In the continental europe and even now in Finland Excellent is the same as cert quality here in Sweden,

so it goes like this in Sweden...

Qualityprice is given first to all dogs
1.price, Very good - Red
2.price, Good - Blue
3.price, Fair - Yellow
Disqualified - Grey
Cannot be judged - Brown

Only 1.price dogs go further to respective concurrance class and they are placed from 1.-4. +5. (reservplace)
and then judge can give EXCELLENT(=pink ribbon) to each dog he thinks is quality to go further to concurrance class for best bitch/male

So Raider got first price and first place in his class... Grattis! Smiley

I forgot to write that in all respective concurrence classes 1.price quality dogs are placed from 1.-4. +5. (reserv) and the ribbon colours are...
1. Red
2. Blue
3. Yellow
4. Green
Reserv ? (I dont remember...)

So if your dog has first red ribbon it means he has got first price for quality and you can take part to concurrence class,
if he gets in concurrence class another red ribbon it means he won the first place of that concurrence class.

To get further he should have got pink ribbon meaning Excellent (or like in Sweden we say Cert Quality) and then he would have been in the final concurrence class called best male concurrence class (for all males that got Excellent (Cert Quality)) and they are placed 1.-4. + reserv. The one who gets first place will compete with the best bitch who is going to be BOB and BOS.  And then there is left best in group class and best in show.

It is still very confusing???

They first judge the dogs and classify them.  Only the ones with a red ribbon can go on (so the very good ain't the same as the very good in the rest of Europe) to the next round.

Then these dogs are placed.  The first gets another red ribbon (like Raider), and so on.  The dogs who are then rated to be excellent get a pink ribbon on top?

The first of each class with a pink ribbon, then go for best male, BOB/BOS etc?

It would be nice to know which "European" qualifications correspond to which color since I will be showing Yentos in Sweden in May.

Saskia- like I said in Sweden Cert Quality(pink ribbon) is the same as Excellent. If the dog that has got first price= VG is not good enough for EXC and to be competing in the best male/bitch class, then their result is VG. I know this is confusing to those who are not used to this system. So it's possible for the dog to be the winner of his class without getting EXC.

Maybe it helps that you think like this every the dog has to be VG quality to become EXC if they dont, they stay as VG...
