Just had to share the good news, Riot finished his Canadian Championship last weekend at the Pine Ridge dog show in Port Hope under Judge Michael Shoreman!!
Win pic - sorry its blurry.. its a picture of a picture.
Now we are onto Obedience, Agility, Rally, Herding and Tracking titles!
In Canada the Canadian Kennel Club recognizes all 4 varieties of the Belgian as ONE breed so the Laekens, Tervs, Grons and Mals all competed against each other in the same ring at the same time.
The American Kennel Club only recognizes the Gron, Terv and the Mal as seperate breeds.. for some reason so they compete seperately.

I do have a question, on a previous post you stated something about a bylaw keeping you from doing SchH or Ring. Where abouts are you located at?? I live in South West Ontario and we are still actively trialing/training, Toronto has quite a few SchH clubs too. I have not heard anything about protection training being stopped, and over my dead body will anyone stop me from training in the sport I love
There used to be a Sch club here last year. It got shut down though.
I'm actually right in Ottawa. If you know of any clubs around here LEMME KNOW! lol
I'd absolutely LOVE to get Riot into proper training for it. Its such an awesome sport - I especially admire the French Ring. Soo much training and fabulous dogs in that sport.
I moved here from Kingston actually and I knew a few Belgian owners in Kingston that would travel to Ottawa once a week for the Sch classes that were held her.. but when i went to find it in ottawa I learned that it had been shut down
and Thank you - Riot was really blessed with an awesome coat! lol
I would love to find a place to train my dog for SchH and obedience. Do you know any place that would be close to Barrie/Toronto? I moved here 4 moths ago from Finland ( and am totally new to Canadian ways with dogs and training) and it would be great to start something like this with my puppy when she gets a bit older. Are groenedaels welcome to training schutz too or are people here too a bit breed"racists" what comes to that?
