I was told that Dutch Shepherds MUST have a bluedog scorebook to compete in Mondioring in the US....is this true?!? IF it is, why havent the rules changed like in FR? (you can have as many bluedogs as you like...not 1 per lifetime). In my opinion, this limits the Mondio program's growth here in the US, they should just accept UKC reg for Dutch Shepherds.

Well Jeff, I already have a super mal to do Mondio with but I also have a Dutchie that I am interested in cross training for FR/Mondio as well, but then that would be the ONLY 'bluedog' that I am allowed.....ever? Bulldogs and Dutch shepherds are not recognized by AKC but who cares? They are certainly registered with other registries! Closing the door on alot of potential mondioringers IMHO. Hmmmm.....hopefully by the time my dutchie pup is ready to compete they will have changed this limitation.

Last Oct in Portugal at the World Championships, second place at level 2 was won by a dutchie bitch, (BH - Berger Hollandaise) so for sure you can play in the US where I have seen "blue" dogs and even nuetered males play at club events. For the nationals and World/Grand Prix you MUST have FCI recognized pedigree and for the WC, the dog must have two visible testicles. I hope we see you on the Mondio field - for me it's the best game around!
Maybe it is a translation thing, but I am hoping that they change the blue book rule to just be crossbreeds. I am not sure what all is going on with that, I would like to see it changed, as it is stupid, and they have changed other rules that were not stupid.
Sharon, I think she was talking about if she wanted to play in Mondio with ANOTHER DS, she would not be able to, due to the blue dog policy of 1 dog only.
